About Asian Journal Publications, Inc.

The Asian Journal Publications, now on its 18th yr, is one of the largest and most respected Filipino-American community newspapers in the USA.  It is published three times a week in the Los Angeles/Southern California area, weekly in San Francisco, Las Vegas and New York. The Asian Journal is the closest thing to a daily Filipino newspaper in the US. The Asian Journal’s circulation is the first Filipino-American newspaper to be verified and audited in Northern and Southern California.

As part of our continued expansion, we opened this year Balikbayan Magazine, a travel and lifestyle monthly magazine for the Filipino expat.  With our constant theme of “love of country is back in style,” the magazine features all things we love about the country.  The magazine is released in the Philippines, given to newly arrived balikbayans at Duty Free Philippines, aside from being distributed at select hotels and resorts, restaurants and cafés and major bookstores and magazine distributors and in America, circulated at special events and available through subscription.

About Asian Journal Foundation, Inc

The Asian Journal Foundation, Inc. was founded by Roger and Cora Oriel, publishers of Asian Journal Publications, the leading Filipino-American community newspaper in the United States. The concept behind the Asian Journal Foundation is fueled by love for one’s country. It is a non-profit organization in the US that aims to promote Filipino culture through arts and music.

Our Vision

Despite the artistic diversity and talent that can be found in the Philippines, aspiring artists find little support. The Asian Journal Foundation is dedicated to promoting Filipino arts, supporting Filipino musicians, and encouraging the development of young artists who want to maximize their full potential and showcase their God-given talents to inspire and benefit the world. We want to help open artistic and cultural borders for these artists, so that through them we can educate and enrich the diverse communities in America and the world with our unique Filipino culture and rich artistic heritage.

One of the Asian Journal Foundation’s key thrusts is education, and since Asian Journal Publications, Inc. is in the publishing business, we would like to nurture young and talented Filipinos who have dreams of taking up journalism or communication in college.

Our Mission

The long-term mission of the Asian Journal Foundation is to promote Filipino culture through arts and music.

Our work will concentrate in three areas, namely:

  1. Sustain the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra
  2. Provide educational scholarships to underprivileged but deserving Filipino students in the Philippines
  3. Build a Balikbayan museum and library in the Philippines.
